Regina & Mark’s Wedding
The Manor, West Orange, New Jersey
We started Regina and Mark’s wedding day with the girls. While Regina was getting beautiful with Jeanine Mangan Make-up Designs downstairs, I was busy photographing all the details.
The dress and bouquet.

After their ceremony at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church in Cedar Knolls, we headed over to The Manor for picture time. First the bridal party…

And then our lovely couple, Regina and Mark.

Beautiful navy and pink tablescape in the reception room.

Personalized menu card and cigars.

The new Mr. & Mrs. !

Surprise! The groomsmen snuck out of the reception and came back wearing these powder blue leisure suits - ruffled shirts, bow ties and all! Check out Regina’s reaction in the background.

Now those are some moves.

The Viennese Table was beautiful. I could submit a whole blog of just delectable details…

But instead let’s focus on the sweetest, the wedding cake.

And of course the rings.

Priscilla & Stephen’s Wedding
Round Hill House, Washingtonville, New York
We had the honor of celebrating with Priscilla and Stephen earlier this summer at Round Hill House in Washingtonville, New York.
We started the day surrounded by the bride’s family! Loved the energy - hair, makeup, and of course, the shoes…

This is one of my favorite details from the summer season. Love Priscilla’s bouquet, the texture was so rich… just had to capture it twice!

Our stunning bride.

Priscilla and Stephen share a moment on the porch at Round Hill House.

Ground was a bit damp after some summer rain, but that didn’t stop us from exploring the estate’s gardens (or me from lying in the wet, to get this photograph!)

Orange and Brown tablescapes.

Introducing the new Mr. and Mrs. !

First dance, under the blue…

And that’s when the party started…

We are completely and totally blown away by how wonderfully the pictures came out! Every encounter with Brooke and Steve has always been great. Their professionalism and attention to detail is impeccable and they’re really a fun couple who do fantastic work! What impresses us most is that they truly captured the spirit of our wedding on film that was very important to us. So were proud to say that with these photographs as precious keepsakes we’ll be able to look back on this special day with fond memories and broad smiles. Thanks so much guys!!

Anastasia and Scott’s Wedding
The Pines Minor, Edison, New Jersey
We knew after Anastasia and Scott’s amazing engagement session at the Hoboken’s Lackawanna Train Station that these two were going to be a blast on their wedding day, and well… they were. Start to finish the were high energy, tons of fun and loads of laughs.
Bridal prep. Love this shot of Anastasia’ Shoe. To create the backdrop, we used one of their couch cushions and an abstract painting. Fun, right?

The bridal bouquet.

Anastasia moments before heading into the Rolls Royce.

The ceremony was held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Piscataway, NJ.

A barrage of rice! There is also an amusing set of photos of “the aftermath,” the rice-removal process. hehe. This is more romantic!

Then off to The Castle in Highland Park for portraits of the married couple and bridal party. Scott and the groomsmen looking rather distinguished.

Scott, err… your wife…

It was hard narrowing down our favorite photographs from the swings, but here are two cute snaps.

Then off to The Pine Manor for the reception! L: Pink and white floral centerpieces. R: Wedding Favors

And of course the rings.

Kelly & Jeff’s Wedding
Shadowbrook, Shrewsbury, New Jersey
Kelly and Jeff, aka “Team Jelly,” got married at Shadowbrook in Shrewsbury, New Jersey! Despite some ominous clouds, the weather, like these two was sunny and bright. What a fun couple. What a fun wedding!
Arriving at Shadowbrook Estate.

Initial bridal prep was done at the Staybridge Suites (shout out to Jeanine Mangan Make-up Designs for saving the day with some impromptu hair skills), but all of Kelly’s finishing touches were done in the Bridal Suite at Shadowbrook. Way to work your veil Kelly. Way to work your veil.

Love this Mother/Daughter moment with the dress.

Garden inspired blue and yellow bouquet.

Kelly our gorgeous bride! Drama in the window.

Contentment.

Leaning on the lamp posts for some snaps!

No matter how you focus in on it, these two super heroes rock!

Perfect day for an outdoor ceremony.

Now that’s a kiss. Check out the bridesmaids.

Neat paper cutout bird escort cards.

Yellow and Blue abound! Hidden Birds! “Team Jelly” Jelly Jars. And of course champagne.

Anybody can serve lemon sorbet. But in a mini cone - awesome!

Erica and Shawn’s Wedding
The Waterview Pavilion, Belmar, New Jersey
We met Erica and her bridesmaids as they were getting ready at The Chateau Inn and Suites in Spring Lakes, New Jersey. Upon entering, we saw one of our favs, Michelle Lo Conte of I Do Hair and Make-Up busy putting the finishing touches on the girls. While Steven snapped away - photos of hair and prep, I took on the challenge of figuring out how to best display Erica’s beautiful dress on a round mirror precariously placed over the room’s four post bed.
Success! Erica’s Wedding gown.

And of course her shoes.

Erica, our beautiful bride. She was beaming all day!

While I stayed with the girls, Steven created some mischief with the groomsmen and this Christmas Tree.

Finally united!

“Fiiiire Truuuuck!” Thank you to the Spring Lake Fire Department for allowing us to borrow their fire truck for some impromptu portraits.

Love the white bouquet against the truck.

Then on to The Waterview Pavilion in Belmar for family photographs and of course the ceremony and reception. Man and Wife!

Reception room details.

Cherry Champagne.

View of the first dance from the above balcony.

Erica and Shawn relaxing in the Photo Booth.

And of course the rings.

Party on! Thank you for sharing such a special day with us. We enjoyed celebrating with you!

Next time you are flipping through a bridal magazine, check out our photo from Allison and Rami’s wedding being highlighted in The Rockleigh’s new advertising campaign.
We’ve seen it in a few magazines thus far (the version below is from New Jersey Bride):

We took this dramatic birds-eye-view during Allison and Rami’s beautiful outdoor July ceremony.

We love working at The Rockleigh Country Club and look forward to our next affair there in February!

Christine and Thomas’ Wedding
Liberty House, Jersey City, New Jersey
When a couple is this much fun, our job is easy. Christine and Tom were busting with smiles and full of fun on their wedding day. We just let them be themselves and snapped along, capturing it all. We could have easily blogged twice as many photos, but we have to leave some surprises for their wedding gallery!
The day started with Christine’s bridal prep at the DoubleTree Hotel in Jersey City. We couldn’t resist this sexy shilouette in the window. Gotta get the shoes!

And of course the bouquet. Love the purple centers of the calla lilies against the white roses.

Christine our beautiful bride, a thoughtful moment.

Then off to the ceremony at St. Francis Church in Hoboken, NJ. Dad escorts Christine down the aisle.

Fun Fact: Christine and Tom met in Washington Liquors in Hoboken. So staging a short re-enactment was a must!

You never know where love will strike!

Finally off to Liberty House (in Liberty State Park). The bridal party helped us rock the giant chess board.

1…2…3… Jump.

We can see who is the Queen around here! heh.

Reception room decked in purple and white.

Announcing the new Mr. & Mrs….

First dance.

The night had many speeches and toasts.

And of course wedding cake! Shout out to our friends at Carlo’s Bakery (Cake Boss) for another beautiful sweet masterpiece.

What’s more beautiful than wedding cake and sunset?

Tom’s Grandmother “Giggy” made 100 dozen homemade cookies for an amazing dessert buffet!

And of course the rings!

What a lovely night for a wedding! Nighty Night Liberty House!

Thanks so much Steven and Brooke — we’re thrilled with the photos and had a wonderful time working with you on our wedding day!!

Caitlin and Mark’s Wedding
Tappan Hill, Tarrytown, New York
We started our day at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, NY. On the way in, we momentarily got swept away into an Indian wedding baraat (processional with the white horse), but the crowd soon dissipated leaving us to a quiet lobby…. until Mark walked in! Our whole day was fun and adventurous this way. We never seemed to know exactly what to expect, but things always seemed to turn out right.
The weather held out, allowing us to not only shoot our portraits outside, but also enjoy an amazing river view ceremony. A bright red firetruck showed up in time for the bridal party photos! And, we got to get down and party hard with our favorite band, The Original Faze 4 (who played at our own wedding last May).
Caitlin’s gorgeous dress. Bridal Prep.

Just something about the anticipation and emotion on the morning of a wedding.

Caitlin getting excited!

Can’t forget the jewelry - love this shot of the earrings.

Love the fire truck! We should have one at every wedding!

Mark arranged for “his” truck to come all the way from Alpine, NJ to Tappan Hill for these snaps.

Every couple has “their thing.”

Handsome groom.

Beautiful women! Love the pink and blue!

Classic bouquet.

The outdoor ceremony spot at Tappan Hill is so dramatic.

Reception room - we couldn’t decide between these two view of the centerpieces, so we blogged them both.

Congratulating Caitlin and Mark after their first dance! Warm!

Partying with the Original Faze 4.

Goodnight Tappan Hill.

Daphney and Osten’s Wedding
Rockleigh Country Club, Rockleigh, New Jersey
A lot of brides fear rain on their wedding day. But, really it’s not so scary. It rained on our own wedding day and the whole time we just kept telling ourselves that rainy days actually makes for beautiful photographic conditions. We’re not afraid of a little water, and neither were Daphney and Osten - who got adventurous with us, grabbing an umbrella and venturing outside for some photos.
Rockleigh Country Club was an amazingly helpful and beautiful backdrop to the day. Because of the sheer number of amazing spaces, we were able to keep things fun and fresh even when we couldn’t be outdoors. We utilized Rockleigh CC’s overhangs, ballroom, windows, piano, foyer, upstairs balcony and so on…
Setting the stage: a few rainy day snaps before we even entered the venue.

Raindrops on the Rockleigh sign.

An even wetter fountain.

Love Daphney’s Nina shoes. Classic & Chic.

Our beautiful Bride! Her sister totally rocked her makeup.

Love this bouquet. The rich purples of the callas and orchids just popped!

Fun Fact - Something Borrowed: The umbrella is actually the same one I used on my wedding day. We had it in the car and HAD to run and grab it as soon as we saw Daphney & Osten’s flowers.

Handsome Groomsmen!

Love this stolen moment of the Flower Girl who found something much more interesting to watch (other than us shooting the family formals).

What can I say, photography is hard work! LOL. I don’t normally post photos of myself ‘working,’ but this one doesn’t really qualify, does it?

Again, love this color palette! Centerpiece on the left. Wedding bands on Daphney’s Bouquet on the right.

Entering as Man and Wife!

A lot goes on behind the scenes - the making of a beautiful affair!

Daphney and Osten’s Invitation was tri-lingual, to properly invite all their most special guests!

A little parting romance.

Lisa & Michael’s Wedding
Nanina’s In The Park, Belleville, New Jersey
Some weddings are fun, some weddings are emotional… this wedding was both! When we first walked through the door to greet our beautiful Bride, Lisa was all smiles and excitement, then laughter, then happy - nervous - excited tears, and then back to smiles again! This pattern repeated throughout the day and often extended to everybody in her surroundings. Lisa’s happiness was infectious!
Morning Prep: shot of Lisa’s Orange-y Ballet Flats.

Putting in the veil.

What a stunner! Our beautiful bride. (shout out to Michelle Lo Conte of I DO Hair & Make-Up).

Then off to the park for an emotional first sight, family formals & bridal party pics! Steven and I loved (and couldn’t resist) this giant weepy tree by the water.

Outdoor ceremony at Nanina’s In The Park in Belleville, NJ.

Michael lending a helping hand to Lisa! Through thick & thin!

Married! Another short group of romantic pics in the Nanina’s Gardens. This time as husband and wife!

Beautiful Orange & Green. Centerpiece on the left. Orange Sorbet on the Right.

The Nanina’s Ballroom. A reflection of taste & wedding cake.

The night had many toasts & speeches.

And fun dance floor antics.

An emotional dance between Lisa and her Brother.

Everybody wants a piece of the groom!

Dessert! Details from the Viennese Hour.

And they partied happily every after - into the night.

Monica & Alejandro’s Day After/Trash The Dress Session
Quinta Real Hotel, Acapulco, Mexico
We are blogging in reverse - first up, Monica & Alejandro’s Trash The Dress / Day After Session at the beautiful Quinta Real Acapulco Resort. We promise to get photos from their wedding day on the blog as well, but couldn’t wait to post a taste of Mexico!
First off, we give these two serious credit for actually being awake the day after their wedding. These two partied hard until 6am, (even we didn’t last that long)! But there they were, smiling and raring to go. We took Monica & Alejandro to a bunch of spots around the resort that we had scoped out in the days prior and still found new places along the way. We began our journey at the top, in the hotel’s lobby and wound our way down toward moonlight on Punta Diamante Beach.
Outside the main entrance, sitting pretty by the Quinta Real sign.

Check out the spectacular view from the outdoor lobby.

Poolside.

And finally we made our way down to Punta Diamante Beach! Love these two images - dancing in the surf.

I was so convinced we were going to get hit by a giant wave taking this series. But if Monica & Alejandro could get in the ocean, it’s only fair that we should too.

Love on the rocks?

Some nighttime romance amongst the waves.

Yay! An amazing destination dress trashing in Mexico!

Jessica and Mike’s Wedding
The Hyatt Morristown, Morristown, New Jersey
Jessica and Mike’s wedding was beautifully put together. The day was emotional. The day was fun. And every last detail just seemed to fit. Even The Hyatt Morristown itself, seemed the perfect backdrop to compliment their colorful accents. All the vibrant greens, pinks & browns just seemed at home.
We started off the day documenting Jess getting ready in a spacious suite crammed with smiling faces and excitement. Throughout the day, we explored most of the hotel with these newlyweds (staircase, lobby, bar, ballroom). But our adventures were not confined to the hotel, we also visited Morristown Square Park for bridal party photos and a quick hotdog! And then a short sunny stroll to the ceremony at The Presbyterian Church of Morristown.
We snagged this photo of the shoes using a throw pillow from the bed & got arty with the bouquet in the downstairs lobby.

Glowing Bride!

Quick smootch in the lobby.

Walking to the church. Love this shot of the bridal party crossing the street for the ceremony at The Presbyterian Church of Morristown.

Jessica & Mike’s Wedding Program.

Married!

Every last bubble counts!

Sometimes it’s all about knowing where to look.

Best escort cards ever! Can’t imagine how much time these paper fortune tellers took to fold!

Grooms in the air. Ok, now it’s a party.

Personalized green & brown candy bar by planner - Tammy at Spotlight Celebrations!

All the candy matched the color scheme!

Mary Ellen & Michael’s Wedding
The Crystal Plaza, Livingston, NJ
We started Mary Ellen and Michael’s Wedding day at The Short Hills Hilton in the Presidential Suite. Upon arrival, we (as always) inquired how everybody was doing. The first response, “You have to check out the toilet!” While we have opted not to blog photos of this specific piece of porcelain, let us just say that it was worth checking out. The thing was like a super toilet. Buttons, levers, automatic air freshener sprays, a built in seat warmer, yes, a seat warmer… and our personal favorite, motion detection to raise and lower the seat… So incredible was this toilet that various members of the bridal party kept walking into the suite just to get a glimpse of the commode. It was a distraction, but only until Mary Ellen put on her dress. At that point, no fancy bathroom fixture could keep eyes off this stunner.
Kudos to Michelle Lo Conte of I Do Hair & Make-Up.

Mary Ellen and her radiant smile moments before putting on her gown.

A romantic poolside moment at the hotel’s spa.

Bride in the limo… heading to The Crystal Plaza in Livingston, New Jersey!

Bouquet.

Check out these handsome groomsmen!

The ceremony site moments before…

And the ceremony site just a short while later.

Cocktail Hour! Love the pink & damask theme. Escort Card Table.

Floating Flowers on the cocktail hour tables.

Mmmm…

But it wouldn’t be a party without the cocktail franks! (Snooping the Groom’s plate).

Party On! A happy Mary Ellen and Michael dance their reception away…

And of course the rings.

We wish these two lovebirds a lifetime of happiness! Thanks for including us!
Thank you Brooke and Steven. The pictures look great - we are so excited to see the rest. I tried to take Steven’s advice and stand back throughout the evening to take it all in. However, the night still goes fast and it is hard to remember so many of the special moments. We are glad that you and Steven were able to capture those moments for us - and make them look ten times better!
Thank you so much,
Mary Ellen and Michael

Khalilah and George’s Wedding
The Westwood, Garwood, New Jersey
We meet most of our clients for the first time over the phone or when they come in for an appointment. However, we met Lil and George under totally different circumstance, tuxedo shopping at Dante Zeller’s in Teaneck! Steven was in one dressing room trying on tuxs for our own wedding and George was next door. Meanwhile, Lil and I were out front… within minutes I was commenting on George’s vests and Lil was critiquing Steven’s ties. What can I say, we’re chatty. :) Well, the rest is history!
We started our day at very chic Hotel Indigo in Rahway, NJ. Some portraits of the handsome groom with his guys (in an elevator bank).

And the Girls in the lobby. Love the purple Pomander balls!

Then off to get married at The Westwood. Love how George can’t keep his eyes off his new bride.

Or his lips!

The wedding had a “Vineyard of Love” theme. The wedding decor featured rich purples and tons of grapes. Including grapes on the menu, cascading down the cake and even printed on the invites (which we photographed the rings on). Plus wine favors.

Lil steps in as our backup to shoot a few photos of George and his Mom.

We wish these two every happiness.

Carol & Ramon’s Wedding
Seasons Catering, Washington Township, New Jersey
Carol and Ramon’s wedding was high energy, start to finish! From the moment we walked in to meet Carol the morning of her wedding, she was surrounded by friends and family. In fact, her Mother’s apartment was FILLED with love and blessings and traditions. A really great vibe.
You’ll notice a lot of dance floor candids. This is something Steven and I shoot a lot of, but don’t necessarily always blog. The reception is one of our favorite parts of the wedding, so this is a good wedding to show more of the later part of the day.
I’m tempted to say for a Sunday wedding, the dance floor was wild… but honestly, the dance floor was crazy for any night of the week. These guys can party! We had a hard time picking reception photos for the blog, since there were so many great dance floor moments. Here is a small selection - enjoy!

A sweet beginning…

And an even sweeter bride. Carol in the limo before the ceremony at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Elmwood Park, NJ.

Caught this fun detail of the groomsmen’s tuxedo shoes during the ceremony.

Romance and stained glass. We love a good silhouette.

Married!

Off to Season’s Catering in Washington Township, NJ

And of course the Bridesmaids!

Even a Belly Dancer!

Ending New Jersey style with a little Bon Jovi. When I look at this photo, I can practically hear ‘Living on a Prayer’ -

Congratulations Carol & Ramon. We enjoyed celebrating with you!
.hmmessage P { margin:0px; padding:0px } body.hmmessage { font-size: 10pt; font-family:Verdana } I am very excited to see our pictures. You and Steven both have a way of taking pictures that really allow the person to relive the moment. I love the photojournalistic style. - Carol

We’ve skipped the country… well at least for a few days.
Steven and I are on our way to Acapulco, Mexico to document Alejandro & Monica’s Destination Wedding and Trash The Dress Session. We will be spending the next few days shooting at the amazing Quinta Real Hotel right on the beach!

We will do our best to answer emails while away, but in case we do not have internet access, we expect to be back in the office mid to late day on Tuesday.

Please drop us a line and/or leave us a comment to let us know what you think.
Our pictures are amazing! Thank you so much for capturing such wonderful moments at our wedding. We are going to have a hard time picking out our favorites for our album and portraits. Also, we would both like to thank you for the beautiful boudoir photos. We wish you were able to capture the expression on both of our faces when we saw them for the first time!

MaryAnna & George’s Wedding
Manhattan Penthouse, New York City, NY
Ok ok… so there are probably twice as many photos here as we normally blog from a wedding, but we’re strongly toying with the idea of turning these images (plus a few others) into a spotlight gallery for our website. I thought it would be fun to debut a bunch of our favs here first. Consider this step one.
We met MaryAnna and George at the new W Hotel on the waterfront in Hoboken, New Jersey. This hotel, is seriously cool. Both the lobby and their suite really made for a fun start. Combine that with an amazing couple and some great accents & we couldn’t stop clicking our shutters. Especially, with amazing details like MaryAnna’s amazing black and signature red-soled Christian Louboutin Shoes.

I love this moment Steven captured of MaryAnna glancing toward New York. I think it’s especially poignant because the wedding itself was held at The Manhattan Penthouse. It sort of hints at everything to come. Plus as you’ll notice later, the venue also overlooks the Empire State Building.

George looking handsome before seeing MaryAnna for the first time.

Some playful romance by the bar…

and some sexy eyes from the bride!

Then off to Jersey City for the wedding ceremony at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church.

We took a second set of photographs in New York City at Union Square. It’s always fun walking the streets of NY with a bride and groom - who says NY’ers aren’t friendly?

Finally, we arrived at The Manhattan Penthouse on 5th Ave, ready to party!

Then came the drinking, and the dancing…

and the drinking while dancing!

After spending so much time on the shoes, the rings were feeling left out.

An ending kiss overlooking the Empire State Building. Thanks for a great night! We loved celebrating with you!

Joyce & Clifton’s Wedding
The Crystal Plaza, Livingston, New Jersey
We knew from Joyce and Clifton’s Engagement Session that these two had great chemistry. Even arriving in Manhattan on the morning of their wedding at The Grand Hyatt, we knew their Broadway themed wedding was going to be special. The day was filled with so many highlights - from surprise gifts before these two even saw each other, to a beautiful first sight tucked away on the 2nd floor of the hotel, to the dramatic lobby, and beyond…
Originally, Grand Central Terminal was supposed to be our back up plan in case of inclement weather. As luck would have it, we had unseasonably warm and sunny weather! But, we took a short detour anyway. There is something so dramatic about Grand Central, the way the light filters in, the way the people congregate when they see a white dress (haha), the high vaulted ceilings… and a few snaps for a stolen kiss across the street at the Central Cafe in Pershing Square. Then we took to the streets making our way to Bryant Park. The day was BRIGHT, so we took refuge from the sun on the carousel.
The ceremony was at Wyoming Presbyterian Church in Millburn, New Jersey. We were amazed how the pink stained glass windows actually matched the personalized aisle runner and well, the wedding colors! We LOVED the ceremony programs - Joyce & Clifton made playbills listing the bridal party & family as the “cast” in their wedding, with hilarious write ups.
Then off for a rockin’ reception! The Crystal Plaza is one of our favorite venues - really great food & service. As always, beautiful cocktail hour displays and a killer ice bar… and a magnificent ballroom filled with cherry blossoms. Our favorite part of the night was definitely the surprise choreographed first dance number. It started traditionally and slow and all of a sudden GREASE LIGHTENING, bridal party and all!! Everybody was on their feet! Tremendous Fun!
Each table was named after a different musical (we used Wicked, Joyce & Clifton’s fav for the ring shot below). And instead of a traditional signature book or board, an acoustic guitar! Which you’ll notice a piece of in the other ring photograph.
Quick shout out to Rainer Flor & his video crew at Simply Cinematic - great to work with you all!
We wish Joyce & Clifton a lifetime of happily ever afters!

Carlo’s Bakery Cont.
Our Cake & TLC Website
Steven and I are still in awe of the cake (and cupcake favors) that Buddy and family made for our wedding this past Sunday!! I’ll post more photos from the wedding when I have teasers from our photographers. Otherwise there are a bunch of friend images floating all over Facebook - the photos of the cake below are thanks to our friend Jenn!
The cake was a 5-tier, strawberry & creme cake in fuchsia and orange with 2 cameras perched on top. Everything on the cake from the cameras to all the delicate flowers were edible! Everything about this cake was delicious! Guests remarked at how stunning it was and trust us, it tasted just as good (if not better) than it looked.
Steven and I leave for our Honeymoon on Monday, so I also wanted to remind everybody to cue up Cake Boss on your Tivo/DVR - the first episode premieres on May 25th! You can see one of our photos on the front of the TLC website below!

Carlo’s Bakery, Hoboken, New Jersey
There are some jobs that come along, that despite the hard work, are just soooo sweet. All puns aside, we had a blast working with the whole Carlo’s Bakery crew! We felt like part of the fam as we snapped photos of every cake, cookie, pastry and pie in our little mini studio setup. In total, we probably photographed 100+ tasty treats, the photos below, just being a random sample of the deliciousness.
We strongly recommend swinging by this amazing Hoboken bakery and checking out the pastry cases for some out-of-this world dessert. If you aren’t local, good news, Carlo’s Bakery is working on adding an online ordering feature to their website, where our photos will be featured!
If you’re in the market for a wedding cake, schedule a tasting with head pastry chef Buddy Valastro. His creations are as delectable on the palate as they are stunning. — When it came time to pick a baker for our own wedding cake, we knew hands down where we would end up! We are ecstatic and can’t wait to see what Buddy and crew come up with!
Make sure you tune in April 19th to TLC to see the premiere of Cake Boss, which chronicles Buddy and his family (mom, sisters & their husbands) and their adventures in cake creation.

Check out the new gift tins! And we can vouch for the crumb cake, delicious!

Joan & Samy’s Wedding
The Palace at Somerset Park, Somerset, New Jersey
Despite the snowy weather, the hardest part of Joan and Samy’s wedding was figuring out which photos to include in this blog post! These two were fun and adventurous in front of the camera - wrapping themselves around sculptures, sprawling across pool tables, laying on couches and romping in the snow.
The day started off at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick. The lobby was ultra modern and spectacular. After all the standard “getting ready” shots and a cute “first reveal,” (yay to Michelle LoConte for working Joan’s tresses) we had a blast exploring the lobby with Joan and Samy.
Then off to The Palace at Somerset Park. I feel this venue, perhaps more than any, has an incredibly dramatic approach. It’s so stately as you drive up. But it was so crisp and gorgeous under a thin veil of snow. Very romantic. We immediately went into a second set of photos, this time in the falling snow! We had great timing, and were even able to snag a few photos with a passing snow plow!
Inside, I have to give a big shout out to Flowerful Events who did a magnificent job with the floral arrangements. The orchards on the escort card table were tall and dramatic and the ballroom was amazing, with all the orchid and crystal light up chandeliers. Another detail we loved with the Chinese slipper basket during the reception, “for your dancing feet.” We appreciated and enjoyed all the other great little personal touches from the hot cocoa favors (so appropriate for the weather) all the way down to the “Mr” and “Mrs” signs we found throughout the night (Jennifer - The fussyDesigner). Top that off with a spectacular wedding cake provided by The Palace, and you can understand why it was hard to only pick a few photos to display. I smell spotlight gallery on our website.
After a long night of good food and getting down on the dance floor, we all headed outside for one last quick photo opp. Joan had been teasing all day, that she was going to make a snow angel, but we never thought it would actually happen. However, Samy being the perfect gentlemen, lifted Joan up for added romance in the snow. As fate would have it, they both took a tumble on a slick spot. Samy was chivalrous by cushioning the fall, and well… helping Joan end up with her snow angel photo after all!
Thanks you two! We had a BLAST!!
Good luck & Good Love in the future!

This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means Tackeff Photography is one of the very best New Jersey Wedding Photographers.
Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.
“We are excited to launch this annual award program to honor high-performing vendors based solely on the experiences of our WeddingWire community,” according to Timothy Chi, WeddingWire’s Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s recipients have set the bar high, exhibiting excellent service and expertise in the wedding industry.”
It means so much to us, that our couples have taken the time to speak so highly of our reliability and our work. If you’d like to read the reviews that contributed to our winning the Bride’s Choice award, please click the badge below:

Rikki & Simon’s Wedding
Season’s Catering, Washington Township, New Jersey
Rikki & Simon’s wedding was so awesome, that doing it once was not an option! Those that used to follow our old blog may remember that, my very good friend Rikki married Simon back in November of 2007. The reasoning can be simplified down to something like… since Simon was willing to jump the pond from England to start life in a foreign land, the US government needed to make an honest woman out of Rikki in an expedited fashion. I however, prefer to think of their wedding as the gift that keeps on giving, and cannot wait until next November as each squeal involves a bigger cake.
Two big shout outs… the first to Seasons in Washington Township. We love this venue, great food and great service. I (personally) was ecstatic to be at this venue as a guest because I finally got to enjoy the food - and trust me, I took advantage! ;) Yum!
The second big notable was Carlos Bakery out of Hoboken. Their sugary confections always wow, and Rikki & Simon’s cake was fantastic. First off, the cake was HUGE - 5 tiers of sugary perfection. I loved how Rikki made the cake even more special by adding her grandmother’s brooch into the cake’s design. Gorgeous.
Steven and I wish our good friends nothing but love in their lives together!!

Next May, I get to wear the veil and Rikki will be in the bridesmaid dress!

Even thought Steven was photographing the wedding, I was still “on top of things!”

Erica & Vinnie’s Wedding
The Estate at Florentine Gardens, Rivervale, New Jersey
It’s always fun to photograph a wedding where we already feel like family. In 2007, we were honored to photograph Erica’s Uncle’s Wedding, so it was fun to see a lot of the same family and friends attending this wedding too - including Lanette, Erica’s new Aunt standing beside her as Matron of Honor.
Erica and Vinnie had a big and beautiful wedding day. Everything about their wedding was grand. We spent 13 hours starting in Bayonne where Vinnie and Erica each got ready in houses across the street from each other. We started with the men and worked our way across the street to the women. We loved how Erica’s dress and details were all layed out special for us when we arrived - really loved the Kate Spade shoes! We took a ton of photos of the girls abuzz with excitement and also spent time focusing on all the small details, especially the sentimental items that had belonged to Erica’s Mother. The house was literally brimming with love and energy.
The ceremony was a full mass at St. Ann’s Church in Hoboken. The Church itself has such amazing arches and a killer balcony to snoop aerial views. After family formals at the altar, we left for The Estate at Florentine Gardens in Rivervale. This venue does such an amazing job - great food and service. From cocktail hour through the Viennese desserts, the food looked visually delicious. The band Mirage Music was super tight and kept the dance floor packed (we strongly recommend this band to anybody looking). And kudos to John The Florist out of Hoboken for his really neat light up centerpieces that made the room glow throughout the night.
