Mahler Family
Private Residence, New Jersey
I had the privilege of spending an afternoon jumping, crawling, climbing, sitting, skipping and making silly faces with the Mahler Family. This shoot was just a warm up for Lukas and Derek’s upcoming double bar mitzvah at the Westmount Country Club in October!
Hodoludedubebu! It’s a mouthful, but it’s also an awesome acronym for the Mahler Family!

Loved these steps. Apparently the site of many family portraits.

Lukas and Derek get tough.

But not for long!

Max & Skyler’s 5th Birthday Portrait’s
Ross Docks, Englewood, New Jersey
Every year, Max and Skyler have a photo shoot to celebrate their birthday. This year, we had the honor of documenting the big number 5! We had fun with the whole fam, snapping away in the Ross Docks section of the Englewood Boat Basin.

Max on the rocks by the Hudson.

Skyler by the George Washington Bridge.

We played the “Jumping Game.” While these twins weren’t always in unison, Max & Skyler couldn’t help but be adorable together.

Finally, the whole family!

Until next year!

Monica & Alejandro’s Day After/Trash The Dress Session
Quinta Real Hotel, Acapulco, Mexico
We are blogging in reverse - first up, Monica & Alejandro’s Trash The Dress / Day After Session at the beautiful Quinta Real Acapulco Resort. We promise to get photos from their wedding day on the blog as well, but couldn’t wait to post a taste of Mexico!
First off, we give these two serious credit for actually being awake the day after their wedding. These two partied hard until 6am, (even we didn’t last that long)! But there they were, smiling and raring to go. We took Monica & Alejandro to a bunch of spots around the resort that we had scoped out in the days prior and still found new places along the way. We began our journey at the top, in the hotel’s lobby and wound our way down toward moonlight on Punta Diamante Beach.
Outside the main entrance, sitting pretty by the Quinta Real sign.

Check out the spectacular view from the outdoor lobby.

Poolside.

And finally we made our way down to Punta Diamante Beach! Love these two images - dancing in the surf.

I was so convinced we were going to get hit by a giant wave taking this series. But if Monica & Alejandro could get in the ocean, it’s only fair that we should too.

Love on the rocks?

Some nighttime romance amongst the waves.

Yay! An amazing destination dress trashing in Mexico!

Portrait Shoot - Cast Photos, TLC: Cake Boss
Carlo’s Bakery, Hoboken, New Jersey
We returned to our favorite spot on Washington Street for a second day of photography - although this time at Carlo’s Bakery, our focus was the people, not the pastries! If you missed all the sweet treats the first time around, just scroll down a few posts for part 1 of our Carlo’s Bakery Photo Session or click here: product shoot.
In addition to individual head shots, we also snapped some group portraits. I love the attitude in the “cast photos” below.
Set your Tivo/DVR to watch the family in action. Cake Boss - TLC - Sundays at 10/9 C.

The Valastro family from the Left: Lisa, Mauro, Mary (Mama), Madeline, Buddy, Grace, Remy, Joe, Mary & Lisa.

We keep getting more and more excited for our wedding cake! Two weeks and counting!!

Kari’s Swank Session
Private Residence, Upper Saddle River, NJ
I think the sexiest thing a woman can wear is confidence! It doesn’t matter if she is nude or wearing a snow suit, if she feels sexy, it shows.
I love shooting boudoir. Love everything about it. There is a simple elegance to the female form that has captivated artists for centuries. For me, I enjoy both the natural softness captured elegantly in a lifestyle-type photo as well as the edgier fashion look that some well placed lighting can achieve.
I want to thank, Michelle Lo Conte for doing a great job with the on site hair, make-up and lashes. I loved Kari’s dramatic eyes.
So, what do you get the guy who has everything?
While we suggest our clients enjoy the boudoir experience for themselves, we see a lot of girls who are putting together private pillow book albums for their husbands, boyfriends and intendeds. Boudoir makes a great gift for a wedding in lieu of the traditional watch or cuff links (which do you think he’d get more excited by!). ;) Boudoir also makes a great anniversary, Valentines or even ‘just because I love you’ surprise.
Please send an email or give us a call if you’re interested in learning more. We offer both individual and marathon/party sessions. Valentine’s Day is around the corner, will you be ready?

I loved the red felt pool table even more when I found out their first date centered around the game.

Ray & Astaire’s Trash The Dress Session
Pier A Park (and beyond), Hoboken, New Jersey
We received a message from Astaire while she was still on her honeymoon asking if we’d go out with them upon their arrival to trash her dress. How could we refuse? As mentioned in the previous post, Ray & Astaire were so much fun on their wedding day, plus we love a good day after session, so we were extremely excited to hit the streets of Hoboken with these two looking for adventure!
Well, we found it! We met at Pier A Park looking for a quiet skyline view and ended up in the middle of a big running race. We still got some nice skyline photos, but photos of Astaire & Ray stretching and hanging out with the runners… well that’s why we love how unexpected environmental portraiture can be.
We give credit where credit is due. Astaire & Ray were amazing sports running through the fountain. The water was freezing and they really put a great face on it!
