Why we normally stay on the other side of the lens!  ;)

We were going to wait to blog this with some of the teasers from Larissa & Joe’s Wedding, but just couldn’t wait.  A well timed conversation about photo booths along with the fact that every time I look at this strip I giggle… well, why not share it now?!

Dina & Howard’s Wedding
Rockleigh Country Club, Rockleigh, New Jersey

When Dina and Howard originally told us their ceremony was going to be held outdoors after sunset we were concerned about how we would be able to best preserve their memories photographically.  They assured us that they would “make due” with whatever ceremony photos we could eek out, and to concentrate our energies on the other parts of their wedding.  Well that didn’t fly with us!  We knew there was a photo there… in fact we knew that capturing their candlelit ceremony was going to be spectacular.  We hope you agree.

We photographed several weddings at the Rockleigh Country Club this summer, but we loved how each of our couples were able to put their own personal touch on the same venue.  Dina and Howard most certainly made the Rockleigh their own, with many unique and personal flourishes.  Our favorite being the live event painter who actually set up an easel in the ballroom and created a personalized masterpiece for the couple throughout the night.  We loved how guests kept circulating by the canvas and how the painting came to life as the hours passed.

Enjoy Dina & Howard’s Sneak Peek!

Kelly & Dan’s E-Session
Paulus Hook, Jersey City, New Jersey

We recently met up with Kelly & Dan for some fun engagement snaps.  We had a wonderful time exploring the Paulus hook section of Jersey City with these two (who knew the Jersey City waterfront was so nice - like a less congested Hoboken).  We started about an hour before sunset and shot into dusk.  We were slightly concerned the weather wasn’t going to cooperate, as we had already rescheduled the session once due to rain, but the skies cooperated and gave us a beautiful evening!

We can’t wait for Kelly & Dan’s Halloween wedding at the Valley Regency.  We know it’s going to be a blast!

Check out the LightRail whizzing by!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  These are great!

We had a wonderful time during the shoot!  The pics are amazing and we seriously could not be happier that you will be shooting the wedding!  You and Steven feel like old friends now.  We are so happy that we found photographers who take some seriously sick photos and who really care about their clients!

Thanks so much again!  Can’t wait to see all the rest!!

Ray & Astaire’s Trash The Dress Session
Pier A Park (and beyond), Hoboken, New Jersey

We received a message from Astaire while she was still on her honeymoon asking if we’d go out with them upon their arrival to trash her dress.  How could we refuse?  As mentioned in the previous post, Ray & Astaire were so much fun on their wedding day, plus we love a good day after session, so we were extremely excited to hit the streets of Hoboken with these two looking for adventure!

Well, we found it!  We met at Pier A Park looking for a quiet skyline view and ended up in the middle of a big running race.  We still got some nice skyline photos, but photos of Astaire & Ray stretching and hanging out with the runners…  well that’s why we love how unexpected environmental portraiture can be.  ;)

We give credit where credit is due.  Astaire & Ray were amazing sports running through the fountain.  The water was freezing and they really put a great face on it!

Astaire & Ray’s Wedding
The Westin Governor Morris, Morriston, New Jersey

We told Astaire and Ray that they would be the “maiden voyage” of our new blog… and true to our word they are!

To know this couple is to love this couple.  Ray loves cameras and Astaire loves to pose.  It’s like a marriage made in photographic heaven.  For us, we love this couple because they are just so much fun!  They had a traditional wedding, with a ton of unexpected surprises.  For instance these two did a KILLER first dance - think the finale of Dirty Dancing - lift and all!  Add in the longest veil we’ve ever seen, parasols for the girls, dramatic uplighting, video screens for slideshows and of course the play by play during the night and you’re just scratching the surface…

Welcome to the new & improved Tackeff Photography Blog!

You’ll notice a few fun changes to the way we blog.  The first is that our blog has a new name and logo!  Now that we’re getting hitched, we’re slowly starting to transition “Steven Tackeff Photography” into “Tackeff Photography” (yay!).   Secondly, we’re excited that this blog allows us to post much larger photos to better show off our work.  Lastly, it’s just pretty gosh darn snazzy.  Enjoy!
