Cori and George’s E-Session
Meatpacking District, New York City, New York
When George asked us to help celebrate Cori’s Birthday, with a fiery engagement session in the Meatpacking District, we couldn’t wait! These two have great chemistry and (despite any insistence otherwise) amazing camera presence. Way to rock out guys!
We can’t wait to celebrate with George and Cori this September at the Westmount Country Club!
Red hot!

Love and fun on the cobblestones.

George giving in this his animal instincts!

Dana & Joseph’s E-Session
Central Park, New York City, NY
There is just something romantic about Central Park. Maybe it stems from all the television and movie scenes filmed there - maybe it is that you don’t need to venture far to see couples strolling hand in hand or exchanging sly kisses under bridges… whatever the magic, we find that it is simply an iconic place for love.
We met Dana and Joe at the entrance to the park. After a short walk through Strawberry Fields, we arrived at our intended portrait spot, Bethesda Fountain. Despite the waning sun and always abundant NY pedestrian foot traffic, we got right down to business — using the facade on the steps, the terrace area, the arcade’s tiled ceiling, the archways and the view of the Loeb Boathouse.
Such a sweet couple - can’t wait to celebrate with them in June at The Empire Club!

The best moments are the real ones.

Joyce and Brian’s Engagement Session
Central Park, New York City, NY
We met Joyce and Brian at the entrance of Central Park. All we really knew was that these two lived near Atlantic City and were getting married at La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes, California. So we enjoyed our stroll through the park, getting to know Joyce and Brian a little better. What we quickly found out is that they two are very much in love, settle down in front of the camera quickly, and share a fun goofy side.
On our quest for a quiet nook, we discovered Trefoil Arch. A three part series…

Dancing in the dark.

Joyce rockin’ the ivy!

Reflective. Serious. Dramatic.

Fun. Goofy. Awesome.

We ventured to Bethesda Fountain and Terrace for another set of pictures. There was some dipping & some jumping…

Inside the Bethesda Arcade. Love under the Minton Tile Ceiling.

Finally, some summer relief… chilling in an air conditioned Starbucks. Fun fact: Joyce was Brian’s Starbucks barista in Los Angeles, whipping up his morning coffee, which is how they met. How cute!

So here it is, MaryAnna & George’s Spotlight Gallery from their June 2009 Wedding. Bridal Prep at The W Hotel in Hoboken. Ceremony at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church in Jersey City. Portraits in Union Square, New York City. Reception at The Manhattan Penthouse. Enjoy!

Please drop us a line and/or leave us a comment to let us know what you think.
Our pictures are amazing! Thank you so much for capturing such wonderful moments at our wedding. We are going to have a hard time picking out our favorites for our album and portraits. Also, we would both like to thank you for the beautiful boudoir photos. We wish you were able to capture the expression on both of our faces when we saw them for the first time!

MaryAnna & George’s Wedding
Manhattan Penthouse, New York City, NY
Ok ok… so there are probably twice as many photos here as we normally blog from a wedding, but we’re strongly toying with the idea of turning these images (plus a few others) into a spotlight gallery for our website. I thought it would be fun to debut a bunch of our favs here first. Consider this step one.
We met MaryAnna and George at the new W Hotel on the waterfront in Hoboken, New Jersey. This hotel, is seriously cool. Both the lobby and their suite really made for a fun start. Combine that with an amazing couple and some great accents & we couldn’t stop clicking our shutters. Especially, with amazing details like MaryAnna’s amazing black and signature red-soled Christian Louboutin Shoes.

I love this moment Steven captured of MaryAnna glancing toward New York. I think it’s especially poignant because the wedding itself was held at The Manhattan Penthouse. It sort of hints at everything to come. Plus as you’ll notice later, the venue also overlooks the Empire State Building.

George looking handsome before seeing MaryAnna for the first time.

Some playful romance by the bar…

and some sexy eyes from the bride!

Then off to Jersey City for the wedding ceremony at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church.

We took a second set of photographs in New York City at Union Square. It’s always fun walking the streets of NY with a bride and groom - who says NY’ers aren’t friendly?

Finally, we arrived at The Manhattan Penthouse on 5th Ave, ready to party!

Then came the drinking, and the dancing…

and the drinking while dancing!

After spending so much time on the shoes, the rings were feeling left out.

An ending kiss overlooking the Empire State Building. Thanks for a great night! We loved celebrating with you!

Monica & Alejandro’s Engagement Session
Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York City, NY
Monica & Alejandro’s engagement session was cool. I mean really cool. We had discussed a few potential NYC locations for the shoot, but when we found out that these two had a membership to MoMA, Steven and I were sold. The museum has such a great collection, hip architecture, an outdoor sculpture garden and so many colorful backdrops… we were excited.
When you throw in that it was also Alejandro’s Birthday AND that he was planning to surprise Monica with a little red Cartier Box, even cooler.
We started in the outdoor sculpture garden. The patio was pretty packed with museum goers but we did happen to snag a bunch of photos by the fountains & several of the more abstract sculptures.

Then we headed into the museum. Love this shot through the green sculpture net wall-thingy in one of the exhibition halls.

And by this beautiful Mark Rothko Painting. What an amazingly vivid backdrop!

And a romantic moment in front of Jackson Pollock!

We asked Monica & Alejandro what was their favorite painting in the collection, and both replied “Starry Night” by Van Gogh in unison. So a quick detour was a must.

We even had fun creating our own art with Monica & Alejandro in the Museum of Modern Art’s cool windowed staircase. We knew these two were amazing models when other museum visitors whipped out cameras of their own to snap a few. hehe.

Then Alejandro surprised Monica with a beautiful Cartier diamond engagement ring (on his birthday no less - now that’s smooth)!

We can’t wait to capture more of your memories at your Destination Wedding at the Quinta Real Hotel in Acapulco, Mexico at the end of the Month!

Joyce & Clifton’s Wedding
The Crystal Plaza, Livingston, New Jersey
We knew from Joyce and Clifton’s Engagement Session that these two had great chemistry. Even arriving in Manhattan on the morning of their wedding at The Grand Hyatt, we knew their Broadway themed wedding was going to be special. The day was filled with so many highlights - from surprise gifts before these two even saw each other, to a beautiful first sight tucked away on the 2nd floor of the hotel, to the dramatic lobby, and beyond…
Originally, Grand Central Terminal was supposed to be our back up plan in case of inclement weather. As luck would have it, we had unseasonably warm and sunny weather! But, we took a short detour anyway. There is something so dramatic about Grand Central, the way the light filters in, the way the people congregate when they see a white dress (haha), the high vaulted ceilings… and a few snaps for a stolen kiss across the street at the Central Cafe in Pershing Square. Then we took to the streets making our way to Bryant Park. The day was BRIGHT, so we took refuge from the sun on the carousel.
The ceremony was at Wyoming Presbyterian Church in Millburn, New Jersey. We were amazed how the pink stained glass windows actually matched the personalized aisle runner and well, the wedding colors! We LOVED the ceremony programs - Joyce & Clifton made playbills listing the bridal party & family as the “cast” in their wedding, with hilarious write ups.
Then off for a rockin’ reception! The Crystal Plaza is one of our favorite venues - really great food & service. As always, beautiful cocktail hour displays and a killer ice bar… and a magnificent ballroom filled with cherry blossoms. Our favorite part of the night was definitely the surprise choreographed first dance number. It started traditionally and slow and all of a sudden GREASE LIGHTENING, bridal party and all!! Everybody was on their feet! Tremendous Fun!
Each table was named after a different musical (we used Wicked, Joyce & Clifton’s fav for the ring shot below). And instead of a traditional signature book or board, an acoustic guitar! Which you’ll notice a piece of in the other ring photograph.
Quick shout out to Rainer Flor & his video crew at Simply Cinematic - great to work with you all!
We wish Joyce & Clifton a lifetime of happily ever afters!
